In Seruverse's solar system all creatures fall into the three categories of exalted, awakened, and feral based on their sapience. Exalted are creatures that are innately sapient such as humans and draconics. Exalted are God's chosen creatures. He breathed life into them in the ancient days granting them sapience and authority second only to His own. Though their powers have diminished after falling from grace and being expelled from Eden, their close ties to divinity are still apparent. 

Feral creatures are creatures that, while still lovingly made by The Father, weren't blessed with sapience or divinity. In simpler terms ferals are animals. A feral can be anything from a mighty lion to a gooey slime. The awakened are ferals that have obtained sapience. An awakened or exalted creature can feed a feral their prana and/or mana in order to make it their familiar. After consuming enough magical energy that feral will become awakened.

Extra Lore

• The child of 2 awakened isn't guaranteed to be awakened. The likelihood of them being awakened at birth depends on how much prana and mana their mother had while pregnant and how many creatures they shared the womb with.

• The child of an exalted and an awakened will always be an exalted.

• Exalted and awakened have a dynamic similar to nobles and commoners. 

• most awakened live outside of exalted society either living alone or in groups based on their species.

• Awakened reach adulthood as quickly as they would have as a feral, but can live for around 200 years even if their species was originally short lived.
