The draconics and fey of Seruverse's solar system once resided in the garden of Eden alongside mankind in days long past. The first of the draconics, Dragos, and the first of the fey, Sylvin, clung to life longer than any mortal creature. Both received visions of humans arriving in the strange lands of magic and monsters hundreds of years before they actually did. Sylvin and Dragos knew that humanity would find it nearly impossible to survive in a world full of magic and monsters. As a gift to the children of Adam that gave them their names, the two ancient creatures prepared a ritual to assist them. The ritual took centuries to complete, and it cost Sylvin his life. The impossibly complex spell known as the system was born from that ritual. The system would awaken the potential hidden within every creature it blessed strengthening their natural abilities and unlocking new ones.
Dragos remains in a deep slumber managing the system in his dreams. He creates skills and classes as he sees fit. He also gives everyone a skill of his choosing wherever they reach level one. Every creature born under the power of the system is born at level zero. As they learn how to open their eyes, walk, and feed themselves they gain exp. A creature reaches level one when they can function on their own to an extent. A creature born away from the system can choose to accept its power. Their level, stats, and skills will retroactively be increased based on their life experiences.
Exp is earned by performing challenging tasks such as hunting a monster near your level range or learning a new skill. Because of this it’s rare to find something over level 50 without dungeon delving or gladiatorial combat being involved. The system displays ten stats that function as numerical values of a creature’s abilities. The ten stats are: vitality, strength, magic, defense, resistance, dexterity, charisma, luck, perception, and movement.
Vitality (VIT) is a measure of how much prana one's body can hold. The more prana (often called hp) one has the more their body can regenerate from harm.
Strength (STR) is a measure of a creature’s physical strength, and it has a slight impact on how much mana they can hold in their body.
Magic (MAG) is a measure of how much mana a creature can hold and how well they can control magic.
Defense (DEF) is a measure of how resistant to physical effects a creature is.
Resistance (RES) is a measure of how resistant a creature is to harmful magical effects.
Dexterity (DEX) is a measure of how flexible, quick, and evasive a creature is.
Charisma (CHA) is a measure of how good a creature is at imposing their will on others and the world around them.
Luck (LUK) is a measure of how lucky a creature is.
Perception (PER) is a measure of how perceptive a creature is.
Movement (MOV) is a measure of how far a creature can move within a short amount of time.
